A new video game aims, according to its British creator, to inform people about the conflict in Syria -- people who would otherwise remain unaware of the situation there. In the game, players (as rebels) have to make choices: Should they negotiate with the government, for example, or dispatch fighters? The game is controversial. Some argue that it is a good way to get people thinking about the conflict in Syria, while others say it trivialises the conflict.

Created by the Centre for Creative Activism and the Yes Lab, there's a new -pedia on the block. Actipedia describes itself as an "open-access, user-generated database of creative activism. It’s a place to read about, comment upon, and share experiences and examples of how activists and artists are using creative tactics and strategies to challenge power and offer visions of a better society."

Renowned author Teju Cole has been killing off beloved literary characters in a series of "Twitter strikes on drones", aiming to personalise drone strikes through combining two very different media: twitter and literature.

Droneswatch has taken the same approach of making the issue of drone strikes personal - compiling a list of children killed by drone strikes in Pakistan and Yemen.

Chinese dissident artist Ai Weiwei continues to challenge the Chinese government and get past the censors, despite the fact that they have taken away his passport and blocked any mention of his name from the internet.
