Global Witness just published a new report: “Deadly Environment”. This builds on an investigation done by Tom Longley, human rights and technology consultant, who moonlights with Tactical Tech as a program advisor. His investigation pulled together documentation on nearly 1000 murders of environmental and land defenders in the last 12 years, which have resulted in a 99% rate of impunity. The accompanying data visualisations have helped expose this work to a wide audience.
