After the PRISM story broke in the Guardian in the beginning of June, many journalists and concerned users pointed to Tactical Tech’s online resources for an entry point into practical digital privacy and security. The Privacy and Expression team created a new 'Alternatives' resource to help you communicate privately and independently.

The Alternatives site was featured in Time, and TTC's expanded myshadow.org appeared in the Guardian.  Additionally, Stephanie Hankey was quoted in The Economist, Anne Roth spoke on German radio program “DRadio Wissen”, and Tactical Tech joined the list of luminaries requesting to find out the full extent of the American surveillance apparatus over at the https://optin.stopwatching.us/  campaign, which currently has over 500,000 petition signatories. To top off a flurry of attention, Stephanie Hankey travelled to Bonn to receive Deutsche Welle's The Bobs award for Myshadow.org, and MyShadow.org also received a Best of the web award from the Daily Beast.
