Our new office, and other stuff

The red couch above is a new favourite spot in our new office in Mitte, Berlin - in fact, one our developers had to be momentarily removed for this photo to be taken.

More interesting than both the couch and the fact that we've moved, however, are the three posters we recently put up on the wall. We found these in Copenhagen: reprints of posters advertising Denmark's Politiken newspaper, founded in 1884.

Yes, the posters are nicely designed and the colours match the couch, but that is mere happy accident. Why we really like these posters is because they date back to the late 1800s and early 1900s - dated 1898, 1908, and 1921 respectively. Given that women only started voting in Europe in the early 20th century (starting with Finland in 1906 - Denmark got on board 9 years later), this kind of poster portraying women as engaged political subjects was pretty uncommon at the time. So, they get our vote of approval.

And this might also be a good opportunity to talk about a new project we're working on, which will focus specifically on building women's skills as digital security trainers and as champions of security and privacy. Keep an eye out for updates on how that's going. In the meantime, we're excited about it!
